Jason Towne is an Abstract Expressionist and Illustrator who has been developing his bold painting style for the past 15 years. Jason is from the S.F. Bay Area who now lives with his family in San Luis Obispo.
Jason has been heavily inspired by the work of Vincent Van Gogh. Van Gogh is commonly remembered for painting Starry Night and going crazy enough to cut-off his own ear. I prefer to remember Van Gogh by his beautifully colored works of art. Paintings such as Van Gogh’s Almond Blossom are among his very best work and I’m happy to introduce Almond Blossom as a subject for this workshop.
Jason Towne will guide you step-by-step through the painting process as you recreate your very own Almond Blossom.
Teaching Style: While attending my workshops, students will create a painting by learning very simple steps that are easy for any skill level to follow. My goal is for all participating students to enjoy themselves while becoming more comfortable with art supplies and in turn make a fun painting to bring home.
The $35 fee includes a canvas that you will take home, paints to use during the workshop, instruction from our resident artist and a glass of wine.
The Station is San Luis Obispo’s oldest gas station re-imagined into a mixed use space for work, events, and a curated wine & goods shop. Wine, beer and non-alcoholic beverages available throughout the two hour workshop. Guests must be 21 and over to attend this session.
Due to limited seating and high demand of workshop tickets, we have a 48 hour cancellation policy to receive a refund or to reschedule.
